Class 5 MOT Training

For Testing Larger Passenger Vehicles

This course enables qualified MOT testers to extend their existing MOT testing authorisation to include Class 5 vehicles, in line with DVSA regulations.

Class 5 vehicles include:

• Private passenger vehicles (e.g. minibuses)
• Vehicles with 13 or more passenger seats
• Some ambulances and community transport vehicles
• Motor caravans in this category
   

These vehicles are larger and more complex than standard Class 4 cars and require additional training and knowledge to test safely and accurately.

This training is designed for:

• Qualified MOT testers (Class 4 or 7) looking to upgrade their authorisation to include Class 5. 
• Technicians working at or joining MOT stations equipped to handle Class 5 vehicles.
• MOT managers or business owners aiming to expand their services to include Class 5 tests.
   

After passing both practical and theory assessments, you will be authorised by DVSA to carry out Class 5 MOT tests.

To be eligible, you must:

• Hold a current MOT tester licence for Class 4 and/or 7
• Be working at an MOT authorised test station (or in the process of joining one)
