LEVEL 2 AWARD IN HYBRID VEHICLE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES
This is a mandatory qualification designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills required to work safely on Electric/Hybrid vehicles while performing routine maintenance and repair activities. This does not include work on high-voltage components or systems.
The course is essential for technicians who intend to perform any maintenance work on Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), including those that have sustained damage to their high-energy electrical systems.
This course is suitable for anyone who, in their daily work, comes into regular contact with Electric/Hybrid vehicles. Employers also have a responsibility to ensure the safety of employees handling electricity as part of their job role.
After successfully completing the Level 2 course, technicians are eligible to progress to Level 3. This course provides the skills necessary to safely perform diagnostics, testing, and repairs on HEVs, including those with damaged electrical systems.
This course is intended for individuals involved in the diagnosis and repair of Electric/Hybrid vehicles. This includes service and repair technicians, diagnostic technicians, and auto electricians.
Upon successful completion, learners will gain significant knowledge and skills, including the ability to remove and replace high-voltage components in Electric/Hybrid vehicles.
This qualification covers the knowledge required to safely conduct repairs on live high-voltage vehicle electrical components and systems. The course is designed to equip technicians with the necessary skills and knowledge to work on high-voltage systems without risk.
This course is suitable for senior technicians, master technicians, and engineers who work with high-voltage Electric/Hybrid vehicles.
This qualification was developed by the IMI in collaboration with electric vehicle manufacturers, the Health and Safety Executive, training providers, and the IMI Sector Skills Council.
